Location, location, location.
The river levels run higher through the Bighorn Sheep Canyon due to the multiple tributaries that feed the lower Arkansas River. This creates higher water, and a lively and exciting stretch of river that creates the perfect beginner rafting trip.
The Bighorn Sheep Canyon runs more consistently with white water. The high volume of glacial waters that once carved The Bighorn Sheep Canyon created a more lively gradient. This makes for a faster paced trip and creates longer stretches of rapids than found in Browns Canyon.
The easy access of The Bighorn Sheep Canyon makes for very short shuttles to and from the river and back to our base location. We are only 1 hour from Colorado Springs and just 2 hours from Denver rafting adventures.
The option to package the Half Day Bighorn Sheep Canyon trip with our Classic Zip Line Tour makes for the perfect full day adventure. This option satisfies children that otherwise might get impatient with a full day on the river and keeps them moving from one adventure to the next!
