Day 2 ≈ Canyoning, Canopy Zip Lines, Rappelling & Horseback riding

Experience the newest adventure in a rain forest canyon. Enjoy the tropical wildlife encountered while rappelling down four waterfalls, zip lining down four canopy cables through the forest, descending down a tall tree and walking across a 132 foot hanging bridge giving you an unforgettable adrenaline rush. This is a very fun and safe trip for everyone to enjoy. Safety lines are setup to ensure your safety while you descend down the canyon. This trip is about four hours long and the minimum age is 10 years old. Don't miss out on this great experience!

Horseback riding
This is a perfect tour for the adventurous people who would like to experience natural, the regional culture and the wonderful views of the Turrialba Valley and the mountains range while on horseback. During this ride you will pass through patches of primary tropical forest, as well as secondary growth, small farms planted with coffee, sugar cane, and macadamia nut trees. Throughout this ride, you will be able to enjoy the incredible views of the valley and the country side. Wildlife and beautiful vegetation are common to see, especially birds (toucans, parrots, brown jays, tanagers and hawks). If you are lucky, you may be able to see a sloth as well as armadillos and river turtles.

During the trip, you will have time to make a stop at a little Costa Rican restaurant to have a delicious tropical fruit drink and stretch your legs. You will be accompanied by your guide and a local farmer of the area who will explain many things about the country side and nature in this area. Tonight we will enjoy a delicious dinner at the panoramic restaurant on top of the mountain.

Day 3 ≈ Pejivalle River Tour- Kayaking or inflatable 'sit-on-top' kayaks

Today we will enjoy a delicious breakfast in our mountain lodge restaurant. After breakfast we will outfit you with all necessary equipment to start our first paddling day. The Pejivalle River is class I, II, and III on the lower section and has about 3 class IV rapids at the upper section. This trip will be 12 miles long with spectacular jungle scenery all the way down. Lunch is prepared riverside by your guides. After paddling we will take you for a city tour in Turrialba to go sightseeing in town for a few hours, then we will return to the lodge to relax and enjoy the beautiful view of Turrialba Valley. This evening you will enjoy a delicious dinner at the lodge's panoramic restaurant.

Day 4 ≈ Turrialba Volcano Tour & Mountain Bike Descent to Turrialba Valley

Turrialba Volcano Tour
After a refreshing breakfast, we will prepare for our volcano tour in the town of Turrialba. We have many different tours around the area for all levels (beginner, intermediate & advanced). This is a perfect tour for the adventurous people who would like to experience nature, the regional culture, and the wonderful views of Turrialba Valley. We will drive to the top of Turrialba Volcano and hike down to the crater. You will see the amazing views of the valley and the Caribbean coast! It is here where we will enjoy a delicious lunch and get ready for our mountain bike descent.

Mountain Bike Descent
After the volcano tour and lunch, we will descend down the Turrialba Volcano to Turrialba Valley. During this ride you will pass through patches of primary and secondary tropical forest, small farms planted with coffee and sugar cane, and single track trails. This is the largest descent in the country, starting at 3,332m and finishing at 300m above sea level! This ride includes a support vehicle for immediate assistance, so there's no need to worry! After the bike ride, we will rest and relax at the mountain lodge. Tonight we will enjoy a delicious dinner at our panoramic restaurant.

Day 5 ≈ Overnight Whitewater Rafting, Pacuare River
Today we are staying next to the beach at Suerre Hotel. The hotel provides air conditioned rooms, cable TV, a private white sandy beach, with hammocks next to the beach, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, tennis court, beach volleyball, game room, restaurant and bar service. Today we will spend the day relaxing and having a lot of fun on the beach. After breakfast we will go to the beach where you can take pleasure in swimming, snorkeling and sea kayaking all day long. Lunch is prepared by your guides on the beach, cool drinks and tropical fruits will be available. You will enjoy a relaxing evening along the beach, a large dinner and perhaps visit the beach side Caribbean dance club before you end the evening.


Day 6 ≈ Jungle lodge, Whitewater Rafting, Caribbean coast- Puerto Viejo beach

After breakfast at our jungle lodge, we will pack our belongings and continue our river journey. We will leave the lodge and enjoy a wonderful morning along the Pacuare River, observing and listening to the many species of birds and wildlife.

We will have one more river hike to a wonderful waterfall where you can swim and enjoy the jungle in this tropical paradise. After the hike, our rafting trip continues down the most challenging sections of the Pacuare River with 3 class IV drops. This spectacular river canyon and virgin rainforest is breathtaking, creating one unforgettable experience.

There will be many opportunities for swimming or relaxing next to the river before we take out. Lunch is prepared, riverside, by your guides. After lunch we will continue our river descent in class II/III rapids with many play spots to enjoy the nice, warm water before we get to the take out.
This evening we will drive to the Caribbean coast to spend the next two days on the beach. We will stop in a nice restaurant to enjoy a tasty tropical Costa Rican dinner before we arrive to Puerto Viejo beach.

Day 7 ≈ Puerto Viejo beach- Snorkeling & sea kayaking tour

Today we are staying next to the beach at Suerre Hotel. Day 8 ≈ Gandoca National Park, Sightseeing boat tour on the Caribbean, snorkeling & sea kayaking

We will enjoy a healthy breakfast before we take the sightseeing boat tour on the Caribbean to visit the Gandoca National Park. It is here where you can see many different types of tropical plants and wildlife. After our visit to the Gandoca National Park, we will go to the beach to relax and have fun! Sea kayaks and snorkeling equipment will be available. Lunch is prepared by your guides on the beach. There will be cool drinks and tropical fruits available. This evening we will celebrate our fantastic week together during our last dinner.After dinner we can go sightseeing to visit souvenir stores in town or perhaps visit the beach side Caribbean dance club before you end the evening.

Day 9 ≈ San José city tour & Braulio Carrillo National Park

This morning, we travel back to the Central Valley in San Jose. The drive back to San Jose takes us through the untouched Braulio Carrillo National Park.
Tonight we are lodging close enough to the airport to transfer for early flights.

Day 10 ≈ Juan Santamaria International Airport, Drop off, Departure

We enjoy a healthy breakfast and then transfer to the airport to say our good-byes! (SJO) Drop off.
